And So It Begins...

Welcome to the Queens Psychedelic Society Blog: a space for our community of psychonauts to bare their souls, tell their stories, and disseminate esoteric information gleaned while in the throes of entheogenic rapture.

You can't swing a dead cat on the internet these days without hitting a psychedelic-themed blog. They tend to cover the latest medical research, health and safety tips, the legendary sojourns of psychedelic luminaries... all of which make a welcome contribution to society's collective psychedelic knowledge-base. What we at the the Queens Psychedelic Society (QPS) aim to bring to the table are grassroots and predominantly first-person narratives forged in the collective fires of our psychic journeys. They include mystical revelations regarding low-dose DMT passed on from the machine elves themselves, hard-won techniques for battling (and accepting) the inner demons that emerge during nightmarishly bad trips, combining meditation with mushrooms to access realms of unimaginable luminescence... you get the idea.

In short, rather than adding to the already plentiful supply of expository, third person writing one finds in the psychedelic space, we'll aim to bring our own idiosyncratic personalities to bear. That doesn't preclude our weighing in on matters political, academic, scientific, or whatever, but hopefully we can do so with a bit of personal flavor. Our approach draws inspiration from Terrence McKenna when he said...

"Create your own roadshow. The nexus of space and time where you are now is the most immediate sector of your universe… what is real is you and your friends and your associations, your highs, your orgasms, your hopes, your plans, your fears. …reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that's being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.”

With that spirit in mind, we welcome you to our blog. And by extension, to our inner worlds, our friends and associates, our highs, orgasms, hopes, plans, fears, and whatever else might emerge. It's gonna be a trip!
